Hope you all are enjoying the rainy season by drinking your favourite Garma garam chai/coffee with pakora, the only thing I don’t like about this season is ruining hairstyle, dirtying my fancy clothes and the last thing I would ever want is incurring skin infections.
I have a love-hate relationship with the monsoon, as much as I love rain, I also hate the potholes and water logging it brings with it! the road tends to get worse and once in a while we all must have been through the situation where our perfectly cleaned clothes would’ve been splashed dirty water by jerk drivers around, they are an added headache to the season, isn’t it?
When it comes to Fashion, Monsoon season makes me limit my outfit options as I would definitely not risk wearing my best-priced possessions and only go with the basic skater dress and skirts, but here are few monsoon styling tips with which you can enjoy the rain and still look fancy without restricting your clothing options!
In monsoon, we usually tend to skip the colour white as it easily gets transparent and see through most of the time, but darker colours like navy blue, black, brown, dark green really go well and should be preferred to wear.
It would definitely be a bad decision to wear full-length denim, trousers, pants as it can easily get dirty/drenched in the rain. So instead wear shorts, knee-length capris, culottes. It will not only look cute but would also save you from looking like a total mess and nobody would want to be a mess, isn’t it?
I never depend on the weather forecast dept. as the season is totally unpredictable and you-you might need an umbrella/raincoat at any moment, so always carry it for your own betterment whether it’s raining or not.
The one thing which is definitely limiting in monsoon season is footwear! The only possible options are flip-flops, gumboots, flats, etc. One can only dream of wearing fancy heels, wedges in monsoon weather as the least anyone would want is to fall in dirty puddles but, gone are the days when there was only one typical black gumboot available for the rainy season, these days we have lots of option available right from colourful to quirky print, you can have it all, so go and explore different boots and get the one which you find the best from the rest!
Skater dresses and skirts can be your best friends in monsoon, be it formal wear or casual college days you can wear them and stay comfortable while looking stylish and beating the rainy blues!
Try going minimal with accessories as you definitely don’t want your watch, belt and other pretty stuff to get ruined in monsoon. You can wear water-resistant stuff but if it isn’t then better to leave it at home only.
You can even make a style statement by carrying a funky umbrella! It’ll not only be your saviour in monsoon but also add to your style game. So, you can flaunt your quirky umbrella and let everyone around you stare.
Alright, so these were some Ideas which will help you in Monsoon Season!
Here In Ahmedabad, It doesn’t feel like the monsoon at all, it isn’t raining so, I wore this colourful tie-dye dress
I love how flowy and comfortable it feels, I have paired it with neon flats and kept it minimal as possible.
